ChoosemyplateI’m sure many of you remember the “Food Pyramid”  - those dietary guidelines provided for us from the government.  Well, in June 2011, the Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion replaced the Food Pyramid with “MyPlate.”  It is actually a far simpler concept to follow than the Pyramid was.  MyPlate illustrates the five food groups using a familiar mealtime visual, a place setting and is designed to remind Americans to eat healthfully.

To help us get on this “healthier track”, the website also provides tip sheets.  Here is Tip Sheet #1 with 10 tips on how to choose “MyPlate.” 

My favorite is #10 – drink water instead of sugary drinks.  What’s your favorite?
